Last checked: . Bonus amounts and requirements come from each institution's own terms; confirm before applying.
Brokerages pay bonuses or matches when you move or deposit investments. Here are the live offers we track and exactly what each requires.
| Institution | Product | Bonus | Ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wealthsimple | 1% transfer match (Trade, Managed Investing, Crypto) | 1% of net transfers, up to $20,000, paid over 24 months | Ongoing / not stated |
| Questrade | Self-directed investing accounts (promo code GET1000) | $100 to $1,000 cash (fund $20K / $50K / $100K+) | Nov 2, 2026 |
What each one requires
- Wealthsimple (1% of net transfers, up to $20,000, paid over 24 months): Register first, then initiate $25K+ in institutional transfers within 30 days; funds must arrive within 90 days after that. Cash deposits don't count. Paid in 24 monthly instalments if assets stay. Transfer fees reimbursed up to $150/account.
- Questrade ($100 to $1,000 cash (fund $20K / $50K / $100K+)): Sign up with code GET1000 (new) or enroll in portal (existing). Fund $20K+ by Nov 2, 2026; transfers initiated by Nov 2 must arrive by Dec 14. Withdrawals before final payout (up to Dec 10, 2027) may reduce the bonus. Transfer fees covered up to $150/account.
Before you transfer
- Don't move investments only for a bonus; compare fees, platform and products first.
- Move registered accounts (RRSP, TFSA, FHSA) with an institution-to-institution transfer, not a withdrawal, to avoid tax and lost contribution room.
- Check for transfer-out fees, deferred sales charges and minimum holding periods, which can claw back the bonus.
